How can I check the status of a specific flight arriving at or departing from IND?

There are two ways to check the status of your flight on our Web site. The first is by using the "Flight Status" page element on this page. This tool also appears on many other pages throughout the site. The second is by navigating to "Airlines & Flights"from the menu at the top of each page. Select "Arrivals" and "Departures" to find current, up-to-the-minute listings of all flights to and from IND, including the name of each airline, flight number, origin, scheduled arrival and departure times, estimated arrival and departure times, gate number, and flight status. Use the pull-down menu to view flight data for all airlines or select the specific airline in which you are interested. You may also contact an airline for flight information.

I am meeting an arriving passenger. Where should I wait?

The choice is yours. If you wish to remain in your car and greet passengers at the curb once they have claimed their bags, park and wait in the airport's free Cell Phone Lot. Ask passengers to call your cell phone when they have their bags. You can then pull to the Arrivals Level curb to load passengers and luggage in your vehicle. You may not, however, park at the curb while waiting for arriving passengers. Never leave your vehicle unattended for any reason at the curb.

If you want to greet your party inside the terminal, take advantage of our dedicated Hourly Parking area in the Terminal Garage. The Hourly Parking section is located just steps from the terminal on Level 3 of the garage, with no additional charge over standard garage parking for stays less than 4.5 hours. Just park your car and enter the terminal via the climate-controlled pedestrian bridge. Stay for as long or as little as you wish. You may wait for passengers in any presecurity public area. Shop, enjoy a snack or meal, or have a seat in Civic Plaza and people watch while waiting for flights to land. Or have a seat near the South Garden in Baggage Claim. Be sure to have the passenger's airline, flight number, city of origin, and scheduled arrival time.

What time should I arrive before scheduled departures?

In general, arrive well in advance of scheduled departure times, especially in inclement weather and during peak travel times before and after holidays, Spring Break, and summer vacation months. Allow ample time for parking, check-in, clearing security, having a meal, snack, or beverage, and/or shopping or making last-minute purchases before your flight. Must I check in at the ticket counter if I have an e-ticket?

All passengers must have a valid airline boarding pass to clear security checkpoints and enter the concourses. Passengers with e-tickets may get their boarding pass from their airline's curbside check-in station, ticket counter, or self-service kiosks in the Ticketing Hall.

What time do the ticket counters open?

The airport is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Airline ticket counters generally open approximately two hours prior to their first departure of the day. Curbside check-in stations also open approximately two hours prior to the first departure of the day. For specific operating hours, please contact your airline.

Where can I find the cost of a flight to a specific destination?

Please contact the airline of your choice to inquire about ticket pricing and purchasing. You can find flight and purchase information online on every airline Web site. You may also contact an airline by phone. Eight major airlines serve Indianapolis International Airport (IND). On average, there are 155 daily flights originating from IND to about 37 nonstop destinations.
