Semi truck driving on interstate

Indianapolis International Airport (IND) and its cargo services are strategically located in the nation's heartland where

75% of all U.S. businesses are within one day’s drive.

Welcome to the Crossroads of America!

The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) is committed to expanding and sustaining its support of special needs air cargo, specifically temperature-controlled product.  In November 2012, IAA will have available a 300,000 sq/ft air cargo facility with almost 50 acres of apron so that the largest of aircraft, like the 747-8F, will have plenty of room to taxi right up to the facility.  Improvements will be made to the facility to bring it up to the industry’s regulatory needs for temperature-controlled compliance.  For more information about IAA’s available air cargo facilities, please contact our Properties Deptartment.

Many new and existing companies are capitalizing on our strong distribution and logistics infrastructure. In addition, our airport's surrounding service and cargo specialists can help you circumvent congested cargo gateways, decrease trucking costs, and lessen the risks involved with temperature-sensitive shipping.

IND is home to the second largest FedEx Express operation in the world. According to Airports Council International North America, Indianapolis International Airport (IND) is the nation’s eighth largest cargo facility; internationally, it ranks 21st in the world. IAA is actively engaged in partnering with local, national, and international businesses, freight forwarders, and cargo airlines to pursue new services and/or streamlined shipping operations.
